Rank 1 - Massachusetts Institute of Technology 100
The 1861-founded Massachusetts Institute of Technology can be found in Cambridge, Massachusetts, close to Boston. The university has approximately 11,000 students, with approximately 60% of those enrolled in graduate programs. There are five schools at MIT: planning and architecture; engineering; arts, social sciences, and the humanities; management; and research. At MIT, students are taught in English. There is a four-week "Independent Activities Period" in January on the 4-1-4 academic calendar. Forums, lecture series, recitals, and other special events are attended by undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

The University of Cambridge was founded in 1209 and is approximately 60 miles north of London. More than 35% of the university's approximately 19,000 students are enrolled in graduate programs. Six schools exist: humanities and the arts; natural sciences; medical practice; social sciences and the humanities; sciences of the physical likewise technology. These schools are made up of dozens of academic departments and other divisions. At Cambridge, there are three academic terms: Michaelmas (fall), Lent (winter), and Easter (spring). At the university, instruction is conducted in English.

Oxford’s academic calendar is divided into three terms – Michaelmas (fall), Hilary (spring) and Trinity (summer) – each eight weeks long. The language of instruction at the university is English.

The oldest higher education institution in the United States is Harvard University, which was founded in 1636. The majority of Harvard's students study at the graduate level, and more than 20% of its students are international. Harvard has facilities like the Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, in addition to its Cambridge campus. The university has the world's largest endowment of any educational establishment. Over a hundred centers house Harvard research in a variety of fields.
RANK 6 - California Institute of Technology 97
Caltech is the current name of the California Institute of Technology, which was founded in 1891 under the name Throop University. The school in Pasadena, California, which focuses on science and engineering, is about 11 miles northeast of Los Angeles. At Caltech, there are approximately 2,200 students, 55% of whom are pursuing graduate degrees. At 3:1, the student-to-faculty ratio is extremely low. International students make up more than a quarter of Caltech's total enrollment. The school uses the quarter system for its academic calendar, and English is the language of instruction.
